Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 January 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NomTogether (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use nomtogether.com (the “Site”).
Who we are
Data controller: NomTogether
Contact: info@nomtogether.com
What data we collect
Depending on how you use NomTogether, we may collect:
- Account data: email address, login/security details, and any profile details you choose to add.
- Family profile data (entered by you): names/nicknames, dietary preferences, dislikes, and allergies.
- Recipe generation inputs: your chosen options (course/cuisine/notes) and the constraints created from your family profiles.
- Generated content: recipes you generate and save on the Site.
- Support/feedback: messages you send us via email or feedback forms.
- Usage/technical data: IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, and security/performance logs.
Important note about allergies and diet data
Allergy and diet information can be considered sensitive personal data (health-related). You choose whether to add it. We use it only to tailor recipes and avoid ingredients you’ve marked as unsafe.
Please only add information you have permission to share (for example, about your child or household members). NomTogether is not a medical service and recipes are not medical advice. Always double-check ingredients and labels.
Public recipes (please read)
Recipes you generate may be saved as public pages. This means they can be viewable by anyone with the link and may be discoverable via search engines depending on how the Site is configured.
What this means for you: Please don’t include personal information in recipe notes or prompts (for example: full names, addresses, schools, phone numbers, or anything you wouldn’t want public).
If you’d like a recipe removed, contact us at info@nomtogether.com.
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account and keep it secure.
- Generate recipes based on your preferences and constraints.
- Save and display your generated recipes on the Site.
- Respond to support requests and feedback.
- Improve the Site (performance, usability, bug fixes).
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and harmful activity.
- Run or measure ads/analytics (where enabled and where required, with consent).
Lawful bases for processing (UK GDPR)
- Contract: to provide the service you sign up for (account + recipe generation).
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Site secure, prevent misuse, and improve performance.
- Consent: where required (e.g., certain cookies/ads/analytics, and where you choose to provide sensitive preferences).
- Legal obligation: where we must comply with legal requirements.
AI recipe generation
When you generate a recipe, we send the information needed to create it (such as dietary constraints and your selected options) to an AI service provider that processes it and returns a recipe response.
- Please avoid entering unnecessary personal details into free-text fields.
- AI can make mistakes — please use common sense and check allergens and ingredients.
Payments and tips
If you choose to leave a tip, payments are processed by a payment provider (such as Stripe). We do not store your full card details. The payment provider may process payment and fraud-prevention data under their own privacy policy.
Ads, analytics, and cookies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to run the Site, understand usage, and (if enabled) show ads. Some cookies are essential, while others are optional.
- Essential cookies: required for login, security, and basic site functionality.
- Analytics cookies (optional): help us understand what’s working and what needs improving.
- Advertising cookies (optional): used by advertising partners to show and measure ads.
Where required by law, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Who we share data with
We may share data with trusted service providers who help us run the Site, such as:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (to keep the Site online).
- AI service providers (to generate recipe content).
- Payment processors (to process tips).
- Analytics and advertising providers (only if enabled, and where required with consent).
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
How long we keep your data
- Account data: kept while your account is active. If you request deletion, we’ll remove or anonymise it where possible.
- Generated recipes and saved content: kept until you delete them or request account deletion.
- Support messages: kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain basic records.
- Security logs: kept for a limited period for protection and troubleshooting.
Your rights
You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data.
To exercise your rights, email us at info@nomtogether.com.
Children
NomTogether is designed for parents and households. If you add information about children (e.g., allergies), you confirm you are a parent/guardian or have permission to provide that information.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee complete security. Please use a strong password and keep it private.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first and we’ll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
