Chinese-Style Honey Garlic Chicken Stir-Fry
A delicious and family-friendly stir-fry featuring tender chicken pieces glazed in a sweet honey garlic sauce, complemented by crisp bell peppers and broccoli. Perfect for a satisfying main course.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 200g broccoli florets
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Spring onions, chopped, for garnish
Method
- In a large bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch. Add chicken strips and marinate for 10 min.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for 5-7 min until browned and cooked through.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for an additional 5-6 min until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of water with any remaining marinade and pour over the stir-fry, cooking for another minute until the sauce thickens.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and spring onions.
